I have invited Novera Energy to write an introduction of their project. I will publish it here, as soon as I receive it.

Novera Energy have revised their site boundaries. As well I have noticed that the position of turbine no5 has moved slightly (~50m) to the southeast.

Novera have released information and a map of their noise monitoring in the area:
They have measured the noise levels at 7 different areas around the planned wind farm.

You can view more information about this by clicking here and the map by clicking here.

Novera write: "One point to note is that the locations on the map are the noise assessment locations and not necessarily exactly where the noise kits where located. This is because our consultants will assess the predicted noise levels at the closest noise sensitive receptor to the monitoring kit".

Novera have supplied me with an Environmental Update for Longhirst. It provides information about the studies performed in the area (e.g. impact on birds, mammals, newts bats...) Interesting is the statement, that the Ministry of Defense have no objection to the Longhirst Wind Farm proposal, either in relation to military radar or low flying areas.

Further I have been told, that Novera are delaying their planning application from Dec 2008 to later in 2009 as some of their studies are taking more time than expected.

The full Environmental Assessment should be available to view in public locations once the planning application has been submitted. I will try to publish a copy on this page if I should get it ....
